Recruiting

Simmons & Company International and Simmons & Company International Limited recruit exceptional people from top graduate and undergraduate programs. Generally, MBA candidates are hired into associate positions, and undergraduate candidates are hired as analysts. Potential candidates should be proven team players with strong analytical and writing skills, intellectual curiosity and, most important, a commitment to excellence.

Analyst

Who Should Apply and When?

Candidates currently enrolled in their final year of a bachelor’s degree program with concentration in finance, accounting or engineering with related course work in business. The Analyst recruiting season begins in September of each year and generally closes at the end of October.

Analyst Program

Simmons & Company offers a two-year Analyst program to entry-level candidates with a bachelor’s degree concentrating in finance, accounting or engineering with related course work in business. Corporate Finance Analysts at Simmons are actively involved in all aspects of client projects including mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, debt offerings, private placements and other types of transactions. Project teams are kept small, which enables Analysts to have a meaningful role in their projects. Analysts are primarily responsible for the financial analysis associated with a transaction, but will also complete company and industry research assignments.

As Corporate Finance assignments involve significant interaction with senior client personnel, Simmons values maturity and strong presentation skills in evaluating Analyst candidates. Time management skills are also important as Analysts are routinely staffed on multiple assignments. Finally, a strong emphasis is placed on an Analyst candidate's ability to work well in a team environment and to mesh with Simmons' unique culture.

Simmons seeks individuals with strong analytical ability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, intellectual curiosity, a desire to work with people in a team-based environment, a sense of humor, and most importantly, a commitment to excellence and integrity at all times.

Simmons & Company International does not offer undergraduate internship programs. Candidates interested in the corporate finance analyst program should submit their resume during the recruiting season that coincides with the final year of their bachelor’s degree program.

Associate Program

As an Associate, one can expect to progress through assignments of increasing responsibility toward levels of Vice President, Director and Managing Director.

An Associate can expect to have immediate and substantial client contact, including written and verbal presentations. Though the Managing Director serves as the ultimate project manager, an Associate and/or Vice President will generally manage day-to-day activities.

Simmons seeks MBAs with strong analytical ability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, intellectual curiosity, a desire to work with people in a team-based environment, sense of humor, and importantly, a commitment to excellence and integrity at all times.
